JOINT POSTDOCTORAL RESIDENCY

The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and MED Communications, Inc. offer a residency in Drug Information and Outcomes Research. The residency develops competency in the operation and management of academic, industry and hospital drug information services. The resident gains practical experience in responding to inquiries from health care professionals and patients, writing and editing medical publications, and reporting adverse events and product complaints within regulatory guidelines. Additional experiences include formulary and drug use policy management. The resident is responsible for research in the areas of outcomes as well as didactic instruction to Pharm.D. students.

EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION ROTATIONS

Pharm.D. students from top area Pharm.D. programs develop competency in industry-based drug information via experience at Med Communications, Inc.. The student learns about the regulatory nature of the pharmaceutical industry and how this applies to medical communications. The student gains practical experience in responding to inquiries from health care professionals and patients, writing and editing drug information publications, and reporting adverse event and product complaints under regulation. Additional activities include quality assurance projects and updating staff on current product related literature.

MARKETING INTERNSHIP

Sales and Marketing students in the local area gain valuable experience at Med Communications, Inc. Interns looking for business careers gain knowledge through marketing plan development, lead generation, lead database management, brand involvement, and sales technique.
